I am an avid whale watcher and environmentalist. I have the great fortune of living in the Northeast United States, and have fairly easy access to Stellwagen Bank National Marine Sanctuary, summer home to one of the best researched/understood population of humpback whales on the planet. While they may be the most charismatic and dramatic whales on the bank, we also frequently have the opportunity to see fin whales, minke whales, basking sharks, ocean sunfish, and much more. On a really good day, we might also be lucky to spy – from a safe distance – some of the world’s rarest whales, the North Atlantic right whale.

This blog is intended to be a place for me to post about my whale watching experiences as well as observations of what is happening in the world of saving and protecting whales and the oceans.
